Changeable Banners

Hi, Daphne here to share a banner with you! I was browsing on Pinterest the other day and I saw a cute idea. Someone made a banner, but instead of attaching it directly to the string to hang it, they used clothes pins! I thought that was a fabulous idea. You can make just the banner pieces and change them whenever you want.

I am decorating for the Fourth of July for the first time this year, so I thought this was a great opportunity to make my first changeable banner.

I used the  Independence Day cartridge to make the banner pieces. All the solid cardstock I used is from Bazzill.

I cut the triangle banner pieces at 6″. The base piece is the white, then red stripes are the second layer  and the top layer is the blue.

The 4th of July was cut at 4″.  I used the Faded Jeans Distress Ink pad from Ranger all over the cut to make it stand out against the blue of the triangle. I used liquid glue to attach it to the triangle.

The firecracker was cut at 4″. It also has 3 layers, white is the base, red is the second layer and the blue is the top layer. I again inked the blue piece with the Distress Ink pad. I also added Distress Stickles in Antique Linen to the stars to make them glitter. I added a generic clear glitter glue to the red pointed pieces. I attached the firework with pop dots to add some depth to the banner.

The eagle was cut at 3″. He is only two layers. The blue is the base layer and the white is the top layer. I once again inked the blue with the Distress Ink pad.I attached it with pop dots.

All of the large stars on the main triangle piece have been highlighted with the Antique Linen Distress Stickles.

As you can see, you then use clothes pins and hang them on the line. I can’t wait to make something new for each month to hang on this line. It will be easier to store just the pieces too, no getting the string all tangled.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope I have inspired you to create a Changeable Banner.
