Merci A Thank You Card

merci1

This card was created to send to a special person who sent me a Rak.

I used French Manor Cricut cartridge for the Eiffel Tower at 4″ I cut out 3 Eiffle Towers black, silver and pink, and the black one  I clicked Hide Contour to use as a shadow, I placed that down flat on card base. I cut out 2 of the word Merci  also from the cartridge under phrases and is cut out at 1.75″  I cut this out in pink and black. Applied the pink Merci flat on top of black Eiffel Tower. I then added pop up squares to the pink Eiffel Tower and added Pop up squares to the outsides of the black merci and put it over the pink Eiffel Tower. I offset the top layers because they were all cut at same size and not really shadows.

Below is a close up, you can see the embossing from the Cuttlebug and the rhinestones.

Below is the inside of the card. I put the silver Eiffel Tower and placed the inside of the pink Eiffel Tower inside the silver one for more color. And then placed pink paper on the right side so I can write a message.

Congratulations Card for Beauty School

Hi everyone it’s Melody Lane here and I have a Card for you I made for a coworker that has just passed her state board test for Beauty School. I used the Cricut cartridge Girl’s Makeup Party. This was not a hard decision as to what card I would make for her, she loves hot pink and loves glitter and bling as much as me.

The card is 4.25×5.5″ I used Cricut Craftroom to cut the images from Girls Makeup Party. I used recollections paper in metallic silver and hot pink. And popped up with foam squares. The base white paper is glitter paper from Joanns. The pink on the nail polish was put through a xyron and then coated with glitter and then glossy accents over the whole thing. I added a little rhinstones to the hair dryer. The ribbon was zebra with fur, feels like real zebra. I used the Cuttlebug on the glitter paper with the swirls folder with pick rhinestones in each swirl.

I have a video showing more details.

Decorated 3D Glasses

Hi Everyone, It’s Melody Lane here. I am excited to be here, this is my first post as a design team member here at Cricut Diva Blog! Thanks Karen for inviting me.

I came up with this project because I like wearing fun glasses. I have a 3D tv and thought it would be fun wearing glasses I made myself, and if you know me the color purple, glitter, rhinestones and zebra print will be involved. I think this would be a great project for kids to decorate their own glasses, these glasses are the same ones you get when you go to a 3D movie, so bring home the glasses after the movie. Then next time you go you can wear the ones you made and get more free ones. Ok, you’re right I could not wear these out in public at the theater but kids would I think. I know my niece Maddie would.

I forgot to take pictures along the way, but I did make a video. Here is an after and a before picture.

I created this in Cricut Craft Room, I used Masks-Earthly Elements and Suburbia just for the lens. The mask’s eye holes are too small, I don’t want to miss any part of a movie. But if you were having a masquerade party you could just attach the mask to glasses so it will be easier to wear. Here you can download the cut file to use in CCR. In the video I show you how I did everything.

I did a few test cuts first to make sure the mask would fit the glasses. I only had to cut 2 thank goodness.  I cut the base with black glitter paper that I got from JoAnns and the next layer I used purple foil paper I got from Walmart.

Here is a picture of the inside. IMAG2146_edit0

I used the Swirls embossing folder in the Cuttlebug on the foil paper, I had to do one side at a time because it was too big for the embossing folder. So I only put one side of the mask in the folder and the other side hung out the end and then I turned it around and did it again. I used red tacky double sided tape to adhere it to the glasses.

I then used my Xyron Mega Runner and applied the adhesive to the front of the base layer around the lens holes. Then applied the purple layer to the base layer. I then added Zebra print Rhinestones I got at Hobby Lobby and other rhinestones. You could add feathers and so much more. This would be so much fun with kids. Great for a birthday party that was going to go see a 3D movie.

The first half of the video shows you how I did this in CCR to get the holes for the lenses cut out correctly. To see the video go to http://youtu.be/-X97M8J71Pk
