CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge Review – part 2

I intended to post Part 2 of my AP cartridge review a very long time ago, but work and life have a way of taking up so much time!!!

For this review, I decided that I would focus on the AP cartridge for the next layout I started. Today was the day that I started a new layout. I have many projects on the go and I try to finish what I have started before I start on new stuff, but sometimes you just need to get into something new.

I used a sketch that I printed from the Scrapbook Steals web site and decided that I would try to find all the elements of the sketch on this cartridge. I knew the cartridge was very versatile, but I was surprised that I was able to find all the elements I needed on the cartridge.

Since I had two pictures I wanted to use, I just flipped the sketch for the facing page.

I used the BoBunny Hello Sunshine collection for this layout. I love the beautiful, bright colours!!

The large orange background piece is from page 43 <Square3> of the handbook. I cut the piece in half so I could use them on the two pages.

The small piece of diamond border is shown on page 61 and was cut using the Font and Shift options.

Page 68 shows the banner I used for the two fishtail cut pieces on the sides of the photos. I used <Banner1> at 4.5 and 5.5 inches.

The frame I used around the photo is shown on page 23 (Layer option). I used the Font option for the cut on page 64 for the border below the frame. It was just a bit too wide so I cut one loop off with my scissors.

The tab shapes above the photos are from page 58 <Tab2>.

The flourishes on the sides are from page 60 (Font Layer option) and I cut four (4) of these pieces. One piece on each page is underneath the background piece and the 2nd piece is on foam dots over the background piece. I cut them from yellow card stock, but then I wasn’t very happy with the look so I misted them with Dylusions spray inks.

The flower border pieces at the tops of the pages are a sticker from the collection. The yellow letters spelling out “music lover” are also stickers from the collection. The circular turquoise letters spelling out “little” are from my stash as is the rickrack ribbon.

If you haven’t already purchased the Art Philosophy cartridge from Close to My Heart, you should definitely consider doing so. Contact either Darla (in Canada) or Lucy (in the U.S.) to purchase this cartridge today!!! You won’t be disappointed.

CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge Review – part 1

CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge Review – Part 1

I was very lucky to receive the Art Philosophy cartridge by Close to My Heart from Darla Haverstock and Lucy Kelleher, two CTMH consultants in Canada and the U.S. respectively.
Their button is in my sidebar, but I am copying it below as well so that you can order from them. The picture shows you everything included in the Art Philosophy bundle.

They are very active on their blogs and in their Facebook groups constantly showing wonderful projects you can make with these gorgeous products.
Their Facebook groups are:

Be sure to check out their blogs because they will each be giving away a copy of my Gypsy screens. You can see more about the screens in my Zibbet store.
I keep saying that I wish I could sell CTMH products in Québec, but they are not available here. I hope they will be here one day because I absolutely love their products. If you live anywhere else in Canada, you are in luck!!!!
Darla and Lucy didn’t only send me the cartridge package (which includes 3 beautiful stamp sets and packages of chipboard pieces as shown above), but also some beautiful papers, inks and embellishments. The paper collection I received was the Pemberley collection and I just LOVED it!! The colours are a beautiful combination of yellow, blue, cream and kraft.
I created a 2-page layout with pictures from my brother’s wedding with these papers and the AP cartridge.
The banner, flowers and letters were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge.
Just look at the papers … they are just gorgeous!!!
This is a fabulous cartridge in so many ways. You can use it for special occasions, to make cards, Christmas decorations, banners, embellishments, frames, ribbon pulls, mini albums, flowers, flourishes, Borders, lace or doilies, page backgrounds, three-dimensional flowers, and so much more.
There is a basic font and a more elegant font.
Since stamps are also part of the bundle, I also wanted to tell you a bit about the stamps. They are very high-quality acrylic stamps and are designed to fit the Cricut cuts. The size for the Cricut cuts are printed right beside the stamp in the packaging. My favorite of the three stamp sets include journaling blocks. I am not crazy about making cards — I much prefer making layouts (traditional, Project Life and SMASH albums). This is why I prefer the journaling stamps.
The second set contains Christmas images and sentiments and a third set contains stamps that can be used for a birthday or other parties.
CTMH always has some sort of a special going on so you can usually get additional stamp sets at special prices.
One of the things I really appreciate about CTMH is that the prices are very reasonable. I have purchased other products from other companies and found the prices very high in comparison.

I still have some of the beautiful papers left over so I will be making more projects with those and definitely more projects with this cartridge.
