Goodbye, thank you and Design Team Call

We look forward to welcoming some new CricutDIVAs to the team!

Will one of them be you??

Die Cut Darla, your CricutDIVA blog admin here with you today.

Today I am posting because we are saying goodbye to 3 wonderful CricutDIVAs and looking for some new members to be a part of the Cricut-DIVA design team!!

You may have noticed that it’s been quiet here lately and that is because our original design team’s term ended at the end of September. I am happy to tell you that most are going to stay with us for another term. Three of our wonderful design team members however are saying farewell.

Beth, Lori and Sierra you will be greatly missed and I wish you the absolute best of luck for your future. You are an absolute pleasure to work with and you are welcome to guest design here or re-join the cricut-DIVA team any time in the future.

I would also like to take a moment to publically thank the entire cricut-DIVA design team for everything they have done and continue to do. They are one of the most absolutely wonderful, talented, kind-hearted, fabulous group of ladies I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart!

Now, onto the design team call…..

Expectations:

Design Team members are expected to post once a month for a 6 month term. At the end of the term we can discuss whether you’d like to stay on or not.

Projects for posts MUST use the cricut and have an explanation of how it was made. You can look through past posts here to get a general idea of what CricutDIVA posts look like.

We use a calendar in yahoo for scheduling who posts when so members are asked to have a yahoo account (if you don’t have one you can open one).

The blog is hosted on wordpress so it is a given that all design team members must learn to use wordpress. Don’t let this scare you though. Most of our current design team had never used wordpress before and they all do just fine. I will personally help any member through any techology issues they may have with the postings and getting everything set up and familiarized.

We also use a facebook group for design team members to use as a forum of communication amongst us so a facebook account is necessary. If you are not someone who has a facebook account and don’t want a personal facebook  account it would be perfectly acceptable to open a ‘fake’ account with an alias (so long as we know it’s you) to access this private group for the design team.

How to apply:

To apply to be a CricutDIVA please use the contact form below to tell us about yourself and let us know you’re interested in applying.

If we think you might be a good fit for our team we will reply within a week of your application asking you to send a ‘mock’ post complete with photos of a never before seen project.

We will then go over all the applications and notify those chosen for the design team.

If accepted onto the design team your mock post can be used as your first post on the blog, or if you are not chosen for the design team you can post away on your personal blog once the accepted candidates names have been released. We will in no way take or use your submission without your permission to do so and your sending it in will be used solely for the purpose of application.

Please submit your application by filling in the form below. Be sure to tell us anything you think we should know about you in consideration for the team.

Design Team Applications close as of October 31, 2013 at midnight. You may still take a chance and apply after this date however if there are a large number of applicants received prior, late applicants will not be reviewed.

I am leaving the call open-ended for the moment as I haven’t 100% decided how many new CricutDIVAs we will accept, this will solely depend on the the number of applicants and how well of a fit the applicants are.

New DT Members

Please welcome our latest designers to the team!!!

Liz Mullen

liz mullen

My name is Liz Mullen and I’m so excited to be joining the CricutDIVA Design Team!! I currently live in Valencia, California which is just north of Los Angeles. I live with my husband, Rick, and our youngest daughter, Kennedy (17).  Our oldest daughter, Mckenzie (20), currently lives in Oakland, California.

I have always been an artsy person and love to try new things. My favorites have included scrapbooking, card making, invitations, party favors, party decorations, and stamping. I have been paper crafting for as long as I can remember, but 19 years ago, I came across Creative Memories and fell in love with the idea of preserving my family’s history. The discovery of CM is what got me into traditional scrapbooking, a passion which I got many of my friends into as well. Stamping and card making came naturally to me after that.

I have my own studio in my home that houses all my crafting necessities! I house all my Cricuts in this room as well.  My first Cricut was the original one and I thought it was the greatest thing ever invented! When I got the Expression, I didn’t think it could get any better! I was given an opportunity to teach about Cricuts at my local scrapbook store at about the same time as I got the Expression. I really enjoyed helping everyone pull out their Cricuts and realize that they aren’t scary machines!  My favorite machine would have to be the Anniversary Expression 2. I also have the Gypsy, but I don’t use it as often as I use Cricut Craft Room.

In the past two years, I have gotten heavily involved in mixed media and enjoy making home decor, especially around the holidays. Handmade gifts for family and friends, sewing, and cooking are some of my favorite hobbies.  I enjoy incorporating all my creativity into projects!

I’m so grateful for this opportunity. I hope to create and share with you in a way that inspires you to create with love. I invite you to visit and leave me a comment on my blog.

I guess I really should introduce myself. 🙂

I am now the new owner/admin for the CricutDIVA blog. Don’t panic, I don’t plan to change anything as I just love how this blog flows currently. The plan is to keep providing great cricut related content via our fabulous design team.

I am a stay at home mother of 2 fabulous children, Michael (age 4) and Samantha (almost 2)  in Nova Scotia, Canada. We share a house with my husbands grandfather and grandfathers wife for 6 months of the year (they spend the other 6 in Florida). My husband is in the Canadian Navy and we are very proud of him.

I own many different electronic die cutters my Cricut ones include the Cricut Expression and Cricut Expression 2 along with a gypsy and Design Studio as well (although my own personal preference is the Cricut Craft Room). I also own a KNK Groove, Graphtec CraftRobo and Silhouette Cameo. I teach classes locally on the Cricut and all the accessories and programs (Design Studio and Cricut Craft Room) as well as some on a few non-cricut software programs for the other cutter owners. You will often find me on the yahoo message boards and facebook groups in just about every die-cutter related group there is as I love to learn and share.

I am also a Close To My Heart independent consultant. I signed up when they first came out with their Cricut cartridges and I ordered one as I just fell in love with the products myself. In addition, I sell my various handcrafts and I do freelance graphic design and business promotional materials including sign vinyl, pamphlets, brochures, screen printed shirts, etc… basically if I can craft it I will do it.

I have been crafting my whole life and since my babysitter growing up was a professional artist who gave me crafting lessons as part of my babysitting every day in various different crafting mediums including origami, paper making, stamp making, screen printing, card making, flower pressing and much much more I was able to really learn all sorts of skills and techniques and apply them to pretty much anything.

You can also find me on my personal blog “Caution: Crafting is Contagious“, Weekly Sketch Challenge blog “Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge“, YouTube channel (where I post tutorials occasionally), Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook.

I look forward to working with this fabulous group of ladies designing here to help provide you with lots of great Cricut inspiration.

I also want to take this opportunity to ask you the readers if there is anything specific you’d like to see here on this blog? Always looking for ideas! 🙂
