Donald Duck Pop Up Card

Pop up cards are a new fad in the crafting world.  One of our Cricut Divas recently made one for her daughter’s birthday.

Shawn used both the Mickey and Friends cartridge and the Doodlecharm cartridge (for the balloons) to create this cute little card that is full of Disney fun.  To see the full project tutorial, click HERE.

Disney Cork Project

There is one of our Diva’s that is a HUGE Disney fan.  Shawn Mosch organizes a Disney Pixar Blog Hop where several crafting bloggers all post Disney or Pixar inspired projects on the same day.  For Shawn’s most recent Disney Pixar Blog Hop post she created a cork Mickey Mouse framed in rhinestones.

She used the Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge for this project.  To check out the FULL project tutorial, head over to Shawn’s blog by clicking HERE.

Creating a Memo Board

Today Shawn is going to show us how she created a memo board using rhinestone sticker sheets from The Buckle Boutique, a magnetic sheet that you can embellish and two different stacks from DCWV . . . the Cork Stack and Gilded Paper Stack.

Monkey Card

This is Shawn from CraftyChicsBlog and MyCutSearch.com
I love this little monkey!  This was a quick and easy card using the Create A Critter 2 Cricut cartridge.  I could picture the image in my head, but could not remember what cartridge it was on, so I used MyCutSearch.com to help me find it FAST!  Since I knew the image I was thinking of was of a monkey holding a heart, when I did my search I typed in
monkey heart
That way MyCutSearch.com only showed me the handbook pages that had both a monkey AND a heart on them!
I used a piece of bright yellow cardstock to create the main card, then I used a multi-colored plaid cardstock to be the main background.  They I cute the monkey holding the heart from the Create A Critter 2 Cricut cartridge and made the heart he is holding in a purple glitter vinyl . . . I have found the glitter vinyl is easier to cut than cardstock, and since it has an adhesive back already on it, it is great for cards!
This card is perfect for a birthday, Valentine’s Day, a thank you card or just a little note to send someone some love.

Christmas Wreath Card

For today’s project I was trying to use up some of my scraps and product I had in my craft room instead of going out and buying new stuff . . . crazy idea, I know.  I had this pack of scrapbooking paper that I was given as a gift and while I liked the pattern on the paper, it was too busy for me for a full scrapbook page.  I cut it down to be one of the layers of the background . . . even having it as the FULL background was still “too much”.
I layered it with some solid green and red paper and the wreath has some green glitter vinyl for the main piece.  Did you know that if you go to MyCutSearch.com and type the word wreath into the search bar you will find all of the Cricut cartridge images of a wreath? This cut is from Celebrate with Flourish.  Then I used Viva Decor for the holly berries.
Using a busy pattern in a small area and combined with solid colors is a great way to balance things out.
