Old West Birthday Card

Welcome to Sentimental Saturday! I’m Brenda from Random Thoughts of a Scrapbooker and made the following birthday card using the Old West Cricut cartridge and the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge.

This is an A2 size card (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). The first layer of the outside and inside of the card measures 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and I used some patterned paper from my stash. I used the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge to cut the mat (cream) and mat shadow (blue) for the outside of the card at 4 1/2″ using the Oblong shift and Shadow shift features on page 51 of the handbook. The blue mat on the inside of the card is 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ and the cream mat on the inside of the card is 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″. The cowboy boot (page 54 of the handbook) was from the Old West Cricut cartridge and I cut it at 1 3/4″. The cowboy hat (page 57 of the handbook) was also from the Old West and the one on the front of the card was cut at 1″, while the one on the inside was cut at 3/4″. The Happy Birthday on the front is a Stampin’ Up! stamp I bought at a garage sale, and the Celebrate on the inside is from the Close To My Heart Card Chatter-Birthday stamp set. All solid cardstock is Recollections.

Here are pictures of the handbook pages I used. The first one is from Elegant Edges and the other two are from Old West.

Turkey Card

Hello! Brenda here from Random Thoughts of a Scrapbooker with a Thanksgiving card to share.

ImageImage

I used my Cricut Expression 2 Anniversary Edition and Gypsy to make the cuts.  The base of the card is from a pack of Recollections 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and all other cardstock is Bazzill.  The patterned paper backgrounds on the outside and inside are from the Creative Memories Primary Autumn Additions Power Palette.  The sentiment is from the Holiday Headlines Wood Stamps set by The Paper Studio.

The turkey was cut from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge at 4 1/2″.  Here is a picture of my Gypsy screen, as well as the paper placed on the mat.  (Please disregard the “Happy Thankgiving” on the Gypsy screen and long strip of orange cardstock on the mat.  It was cut at 3″, but was too long to fit my card so I didn’t use it for this project.)

I used Elegant Edges for the background on the outside and inside of the card.  I used the Oblong feature and cut it at a 6 3/4″.  I also used Hide & Contour so the bird would not cut.  Here is a picture of my Gypsy screen.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Sentimental Saturday – Baby Girl Card

Image

Image

Hi! Brenda here from Random Thoughts of a Scrapbooker. For today’s Sentimental Saturday post, I’ve made a baby girl card in anticipation of the birth of my granddaughter.

This is an A2 size card and measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The base was cut from an 8 1/2″ x 11″ ivory cardstock. I cut the cardstock in half, which gives me two bases. The pink layer is cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″. The background behind the stork was cut at 4″ using the oblong and shadow cuts on the Elegant Edges cartridge (page 33). The patterned paper was something I had in my stash. Baby Girl phrase and shadow were cut using the Tiny Treasurers cartridge (page 68). I then used pink glitter on the baby girl phrase to help it pop more. The stork and baby were cut at 3 1/2″ using the Tiny Treasures cartridge (pages 54 and 55).

Here is a screenshot of my Gypsy showing the stork and baby cuts, as well as a picture of my papers on my Cricut mat.

I completed the front of the card with four pink buttons from a Cute As A Button kit I bought from HSN. I also added Queen and Co. twine to the top of the blanket.

For the inside of the card, I cut the pink cardstock at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″, the patterned paper cut at 2 3/4″ x 4″ and the white cardstock at 2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″. I added a Queen and Co. heart gem. The sentiment is from the Close To My Heart New Arrival stamp set.

All solid cardstock is Recollections cardstock.

I hope you like my baby girl card. Please visit my blog at http://happyscrapper64.blogspot.com to see more of my projects. I’d love to have you visit.
